Industry Spotlight - James Price

Updated: Jan 6

We're recognizing the dedicated industry professionals that have 20+ years of experience in commercial/industrial refrigeration. The following is a brief look into James Price background and what advice he has to share with others.

"What brought you into industrial refrigeration and why?"

Family - 4th generation Ammonia Refrigeration went to Texas A&M for my pilot’s slot taking Aeronautical and Aerospace Engineering. Had a concussion couldn’t get the slot. Left and went to work for my Dad. Grew up in the industry.

"What do you like most about your job?"

The security. Always work.

"What is your proudest professional accomplishment?"

Teaching it. I enjoy the light up moments when it clicks. For 33yrs, I have enjoyed it. I am a past president of RETA, RAI, and helped start 7 chapters some still operating.

"How do you stay motivated during challenges at work?"

Head up and think of my family, they are why I do it.

"What words of advice would you give someone new to the industry?"

Pick up books and read. Teach yourself. Ask questions and gain all the knowledge you can hold. Learn to say Yes a lot.

"What goals do you desire to achieve next?"

Retirement and maybe giving the 5th generation a head start.

Thank you, James, for your dedication to keeping this industry cool & safe. Your time at RETA is much appreciated by so many in this field and we thank you for all of your hard work.
