We're recognizing the dedicated industry professionals that have 20+ years of experience in commercial/industrial refrigeration. The following is a brief look into Justin Michael, RAI background and what advice he has to share with others.
"What brought you into industrial refrigeration and why?"
My Dad gave me a "summer job" and I never left.
"What do you like most about your job?"
Passing on my knowledge to the younger generation. I still enjoy getting out in the field and helping with a pump down when the opportunity presents itself.
"What is your proudest professional accomplishment?"
I would say being presented with the 2023 Guy R. King Education Award at the 2023 RETA National Conference.
"How do you stay motivated during challenges at work?"
I stay motivated by knowing what I'm doing helps keep operators safe and gets them back to their families.
"What words of advice would you give someone new to the industry?"
If you have an old timer who is willing to share their knowledge and take you under their wing take full advantage of it. Also, always remember pressure equals temperature and temperature equals pressure.
"What goals do you desire to achieve next?"
I am currently working on putting together an Operator 3 class built around RETAs IR3 book so completing that and rolling it out the summer of 2024 is the immediate next goal.
