We're recognizing the individuals that are actively supporting commercial/industrial refrigeration. The following is a brief look into Dan Worms background and what advice he has to share with others.
"How did you get introduced to industrial refrigeration?"
Working in high school as a truck driver for my grandfather's mechanical contracting business.
"What part of the job makes you want to stay in this industry?"
The interesting and knowledgeable people you meet. That and the amazement of what refrigeration can do and how we depend on it so much.
"What recent industry related challenge have you conquered and are proud to have prevail over?"
I started as a pipefitter apprentice made it through 8 years of school in the trades. Ran some industrial service and ended up falling in love with the installation side of ammonia refrigeration. Which brought me into the lubrication end of refrigeration and its importance.
"What is your favorite job task that you enjoy in this field?"
Right now, it would be teaching the importance of good lubrication in a refrigeration compressor. Along with how the right oil for the application gets out of the system depending on the operating temps.
"If you could give your younger self advice when you first started, what advice would that be?"
Push myself to learn more when I was younger since knowledge is power.
"What professional accomplishment do you aspire within the next three years?"
To become the president of the company. To lead the company to be the best in the business, not the biggest just the best in quality products and customer service.
